1.  Big Bird’s teddy bear is named Radar (a nod to M*A*S*H).  Elmo’s parents are George and Gladys Monster.  Sesame Street’s subway stop is the “1,2,A,B”.  there is no stop in the subway system that has just those four trains, but the only borough that those four all converge is Manhattan.

2. Baby formula.  Breast feeding is far more common place in Europe that in the U.S.A.

3. The book is Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.  The follow up book is In The Night Kitchen, and the controversy is that Micky is naked and drawn anatomically correct for a dream sequence!  Peter Schickele is better known as P.D.Q. Bach.

4. When alerted to the problem, the City posted signs in all NYC playgrounds saying shoes must be worn at all times.  Then the city started ticketing parents of barefoot children.  Nice.

5. The comedian was George Carlin.  He spoke to a teddy bear in the recording booth.  He referred to himself as “The Anti-Pete Best”.  The routine was the “Seven Words You Can’t Say on Television”.

6. The hospital room is known as the “Paltrow Suite” for Gwenyth Paltrow, and I heard a rumor that it goes for $2,500.00 a day.  Ms. Paltrow’s children are Apple and Moses, and her husband is Chris Martin of the band Coldplay.

7.  The most popular dog name in NYC for the last two years is:  Max.  Sorry buddy.
